The Pioneer homestead is furnished with furnishings typical of homesteads in Arkansas approximately 100 years ago. See how they cooked on a wood stove, made butter, wove rugs, and made brooms from corn shucks. Children will enjoy testing their frontier skills by milking Daisy our “Milking Cow,” grinding corn into cornmeal, and cutting firewood with a pioneer crosscut hand saw.
There are guided tours that take groups through this frontier settlement and explain the daily obstacles, entertainment, and general life style of early families. This is a great opportunity for people of all ages to ask questions and explore what life would be like without the conveniences that we are all familiar with today.
